Golden, crisp, and unapologetically comforting, these toasted sandwiches are taken to the next level with a warm, tangy-sweet sauce poured generously over the top. The bread is toasted until crunchy on the outside while staying soft and satisfying inside, creating the perfect base for whatever filling you love most.
The real magic is the sauce: a bold blend of Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and mustard. It’s savory, slightly sharp, and just sweet enough to caramelize as it warms in the oven, soaking into every crevice and adding a rich, glossy finish.
Try different meat and cheese combos. I did ham and cheddar together and turkey and swiss together. However, roast beef and provolone would be good too. Mix and match the way you like it. Then, post on Facebook with #kimsjasperkitchen so I can see too!

For the Sauce
Instrutions
Assemble your sandwiches
-
Roll out two pieces of aluminum foil long enough to wrap around your rolls. If you didn't find pre-sliced rolls, cut them in half to open them up.
-
Layer cheese, meat, and cheese again using your favorite combinations.
-
Put the roll tops back into place, making sure it is lined up with the meat, cheese, and bottom of the rolls.
-
Carefully pour the sauce over the rolls and wrap tight.
-
Let sit in the fridge for at least 4 hours but you can go up to 24 hours. Mine sat for about 18 hours.
-
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Put your packet on a cookie sheet and cook for 15 minutes covered. After 15 minutes, open the packet up and cook for another 15 minutes.
-
If the tops of the rolls aren't toasty, add 5 min. They should be toasty and crisp on the outside but soft and gooey on the inside.
-
Cut and serve. Enjoy! These goes great with soup too!
